Please Note: The due date listed on the scholarship is the date that the scholarship is due into the guidance office. Many of the scholarships have a "mail by..." date written on them; this date is only for those who do not plan on having the guidance office provide information or do mailing. We ask that parents who are assisting their students in completing scholarships honor the due date that is provided for them.

Process of getting a scholarship:
# 13 Toyota Scholarship
Amount: $ 10000 Due Date: 2008-11-24
Any senior with a GPA =/> 3.00 who wish to be nominated for the Toyota Scholarship needs to fill in the application and return to the guidance office by Monday, November 24th. The applications will be reviewed and a nominee chosen by a team of teachers.
# 4 AXA Community Scholars
Amount: $ 10000 Due Date: 2008-12-15
To qualify students must demonstrate: * Ambition and drive * Determination to set and reach goals * Respect for self, family and community * Ability to succeed in college
# 1 Elks National "Most Valuable Student"
Amount: $ 1000 Due Date: 2009-01-07
One winning girl and one boy from Lodge #835. Get the application in the guidance office. Application will require essay, parent financial statement, transcript, SAT scores, exhibits and letters of recommendations. Student must be intending to enroll in a four year BS/BA program, although the first two years may be spent in a two-year college.
# 2 Elks National Legacy Awards
Amount: $ 4000 Due Date: 2009-01-07
Open to a senior planning on going to a four year accredited school. The senior has to be a relative (not great-grandchild) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2006. application in guidance
# 9 Maine Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers
Amount: $ 2000 Due Date: 2009-01-31
Any high school student planning a career in civil engineering. The selection will be based on academics, extracurricular activities, letters of recommendation and a statement of interest in civil engineering.
# 11 Clyde Russell
Amount: $ 5000 Due Date: 2009-02-01
Any senior planning on attending a four year school. The committee will review: personal traits, extracurricular activities, academic ability and goals and objectives. The runner up will receive $500
# 12 Clyde Russell
Amount: $ 2000 Due Date: 2009-02-01
Any senior planning on attending a two year college. The team will review: personal traits, extracurricular activities, academic abilities, and goals and objectives.
# 10 KFC Colonel's Scholars
Amount: $ Variable Due Date: 2009-02-10
Colonel's Scholars is looking for outstanding seniors with financial need and entrepreneurial spirit to qualify. Senior must have >/= GPA of 2.75 and be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program within their state of residence. Will be available from Dec 1st through Feb 10, 2009. # 6 The Barking Foundation
Amount: $ 3000 Due Date: 2009-02-12
Any senior with financial need who is going to pursue a first associates or bachelors at an accredited college as a part or full time student. You must be a Maine resident but may go to school either in or outside of Maine.
# 7 American Lung Association
Amount: $ 500 Due Date: 2009-03-15
Senior going on to an accredited two or four year college, be involved in the game of golf - as a player, a member of a golf team or an employee of a golf course, and must be pursuing a degree in health education or promotion, medical or environmental studies. Must be a non-smoker.
# 5 Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $ 3000 + Due Date: 2009-05-01
Senior going on to an accredited college of low to moderate income level with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must demonstrate a desire to make a contribution to society, be involved in community service and be able to work part time in college. www.phillips-scholarship.org
# 0 Oppportunity Maine Tax Credit
Amount: $ variable Due Date: 2009-12-31
The Opportunity Maine Tax Credit Program gives all students who choose to go to college in Maine and live and work in the state after graduating access to the Opportunity Tax Credit. They will be eligible for a Maine Tax credit in the amount that they will be paying out in yearly student loan payments. You must preregister in a non-binding contract - there is no downside to this amazing gift from Harold Alfond to the state of Maine. www.opportunitymaine.org
